Tough going at Two Oceans for Ugu Athletics Club runners

It was good preparation for the forthcoming Comrades Marathon.

FOURTEEN members of the Ugu Athletics Club travelled to Cape Town to take part in the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon last week.

“It’s known as the world’s Most Beautiful Marathon,” said club stalwart Pardon Mathebula.

The start of the Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town.

Some ran the 56km race and others the 21.1km race. The 56km ultra marathon had a seven hour cut off, allowing most runners to enjoy and possibly finish the race.

Unfortunately a few did not start due to ill health and others were unable to finish the 56km despite getting close.

Others snuck across the line with just a few minutes to spare.
