South Coast dogs end the year on a high note

Because of flooding at the Port Shepstone Borough Grounds, the show was moved to Douglas Mitchell Sports Grounds in Uvongo.

Hibiscus Kennel Club held its last show for 2017 recently. Because of flooding at the Port Shepstone Borough Grounds, the show was moved to Douglas Mitchell Sports Grounds in Uvongo. Even though the wind was very unpleasant, it did not dampen spirits and as usual, South Coast dogs and handlers did well.

Tracey Norton and her Boxer ‘Badger’ placed first in Contact Agility grade 2. Michelle Howard and her Chinese Cresteds had numerous placings – Po came first in Contact Agility, grade 3, as well as Non-contact Agility, grade 3, Sebastian placed second in Contact Agility grade 3 and Minna came third in Contact Agility, grade 3, and Non-contact grade 3.

Elsie Pretorius came second in contact agility grade 3 and third in Dog Jumping grade 3 with poodle Miko. Bernice Smit and her Shelties placed as follows: Mindy – third, Contact Agility grade 3; first, grade 3 midi and third in Dog Jumping, grade 5. Ty scooped second place in Dog Jumping grade 5.

Ninette Smith and her border collie Sparkle came first in Contact Agility grade 3, as well as Dog Jumping grade 5. Ninette and border collie Glitz came third in Dog Jumping grade 1.

Ninette and her youngest border collie Shimmer placed second in Non-contact Agility grade 3 and first in Dog Jumping grade 3 with poodle Swish.

Rosemarie Ludwig and her border collie Turbo took second place in Contact Agility grade 3, and placed first with border collie Naka in Dog Jumping grade1. Rosemarie and Demi scooped first position in Contact Agility grade 1.

Heather Moorcroft and her spaniel Nina took top honours in Non-contact Agility grade 1 and third in Dog Jumping grade 4. With Tessa, Heather placed second in both Non-contact Agility grade 3 and Dog Jumping grade 3. Ann Shaw and her border collie KK enjoyed a lovely round and came first with a qualification in Non-contact Agility grade 1. Ann and her other border collie Bondi then went on to win Dog Jumping grade 2 as well!

Mikhayla de Heer and her Australian shepherd Callie placed second in Non-contact Agility grade 1 and Elsie McKillen and her German shepherd Gemma came third. Gaby Frey and her border collie KT took first place in Non-contact Agility grade 2 and Jenny Robertson and border collie Jodie received a well-deserved third in Non-contact grade 3.
