Mike Lee is in the money at Margate Country Club

All competitions were rained out last Saturday.

MIKE Lee took first place and the big prize in last Thursday’s Carreira-Curlewis Cup (week 11) at Margate Country Club.

It was a low-scoring affair compared to some past weeks. Mike had 39 points, with Angus McLachlan second on 38 points, counting out JP Pretorius.

Nearest the pins were Chris Nel (4th) and Pierre Malherbe (16th).

All competitions were rained out last Saturday.

Alecia Hilt and Wilna Olkers won the women’s betterball last Tuesday.

They scored 42 points to edge out Hannetjie Pretorius and Una McLachlan by two points.

In third spot on 38 points were Grace Fourie and Lesley Erasmus, followed on 37 points by Julie Gerber and Wondra Bothma.

Wednesday Wobblers’ alliance saw John Gibson, Eddie Gommersall and Louie Gouws chalk up a comfortable win on 88 points.

In second place on 82 points were Freddie Boshoff, Hans Dallinger and Richard Plaskitt, followed one point further behind by Rob Brien, Dave Morrison and Thys Bothma.

The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Piet Pretorius, Doug Douglas and Karl Zurfluh on 70 points.
