Port Shepstone High cricket teams impress

The girls’ first hockey team beat the Amanzimtoti B team 6-0, placing them third at the indoor hockey night series.

PORT Shepstone High’s cricket teams played against Kingsway High recently.

The first team won by five runs, with Brinley de Bruin on 63 not out and John de Bruin taking six wickets for 39 runs. The U14 team won by 18 runs.

Chulumanco Zintho took four wickets for 13 runs. The girls’ touch rugby team beat Westville 2-1 at a league meeting and the golf team beat Suid-Natal High 3-1.

Cassidy Calder, Kelly van der Berg and Olwethu Mkwanzi made the U18 Ugu district girls’ hockey team.

Zama Ngubane and Megan Rudling made the U16 team and Yanga Mthatu, Belinda Visser, Luyanda Dlamini, Nonkanyiso Nyawose, Kelly Taute-Kotze and Silondiwe Mavundla the U14 team.

The Ugu teams will take part in the KZN trials during April and May.
