Winner of the ‘big bucks’ at Margate Country Club was not Ernie but Elsie

ELSIE Pretorius bagged her second big win in two weeks when she carded 40 points to take first prize in the Carreira-Curlewis Cup at Margate Country Club last Thursday.

Pierre Malherbe was second on 38 points, followed by Jim Finn on 37 points.

Nearest the pins were won by Harold Olkers (4th) and Ronan Klen (16th).

Super Saturday, sponsored by the Wild Coast Sun, was won by Richard Plaskitt and Corjan Hilt on 48 points.

Runners-up were Juan Dixon and Anton Kohrmann on 47 points, followed by Ronnie Mtshaka and Elvis Khawula on 46 points.

Nearest the pins were Mike Bownes (2nd) and Brian Jolliffe (11th).

Wobblers’ golf was rained out last Wednesday, as was the women’s competition last Tuesday.
