Patrick, Sbu in the money at Margate

Competition has been fierce as players have vied for top spot.

ROUND Two of the Carreira-Curlewis Cup, sponsored by Doug’s Hardware, and played at Margate Country Club, was won by Patrick Mavundla on 40 points.

Runner-up was Fanie Terblanche on 39 points, followed by Piet Ludick on 38 points.

Nearest the pins were Dries Barkhuizen (4th) and Fanie Terblanche (16th).

Wobblers alliance last Wednesday was won by Thys Bothma, Dave Morrison and Otto Mutschler on 86 points.

Second were Jim Finn, Frank Merrill and Richard Plaskitt on 83 points.

Third were Dave Parsons, Piet Pretorius and Alan Robinson on 82 points.

The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went Robert Henning, Hans Dallinger and Andrew Dickerson on 73 points.

Monthly medal last Saturday was won by Sbu Ntozakhe on nett 65.

Runner-up was JP Pretorius on nett 68.

B division winner was Johan Stoltz on nett 65, one ahead of Rob Weyer.

Neil Townsend won the C division on 40 points, counting out Piet Ludick.

All the available 2016 Monthly Medal winners also played for Captain’s Putter prize and this was won by Sbu Ntozakhe.

He counted out Johan Stoltz who had a costly nine on the 15th.

Women’s medal was won by Hilary Hendry on nett 69, followed by Connie McArthur on nett 70.

Julie Gerber had nett 71 as did Rene Paton.
