Southcity cricketers excel

Senior Primary played Creston last weekend and the U11A, U13A and U13B teams all won their matches.

Southcity's first cricket team (from left) coach Gareth Olivant, Jonathan Francesconi, Matthew Pringle, Jeandre Michau, Jarred Kuhn, Tyler Robertson, Travis Truter, Jaryd Robertson, Dillon Jonker, Gareth Pieterse, Jordan Hill and Jason Marx (front) played at Creston last week and won (50 over game).

SOUTHCITY’S first cricket team played at Creston last week. Southcity ultimately won the 50 over game. Creston batted first, were bowled out for 88 and Southcity scored 91/1 in 11.5 overs. Jono Francesconi got 3/21, Jason Marx 44 not out and Matt Pringle 23 not out.

The U15 team played at Southcity (40 over game) and Southcity won by eight wickets. Southcity bowled Creston out for 43. Bowlers- Tyron Fisher 3-9, Josh Pretorius 3-11, batsmen- Cameron Manning 15 and Reydon Basson 15. Senior Primary also played Creston last weekend and the U11A, U13A and U13B teams won their matches. The U11B team lost their match.
