Marburg Primary’s Nikkay excels at cricket

The pupil has been selected for the KZN U13 girls' cricket team.

NIKKAY Choonoo, a grade 7 pupil at Marburg Primary, has been chosen for the KwaZulu-Natal U13 girls’ cricket team.

It is a remarkable achievement for Nikkay, who was selected for the U13 team when she was only 10-years-old and in grade 4.

This is the third time she has been selected, and she is the only pupil from Southern KZN to be selected.

Nikkay is an excellent all-rounder, who impressed the selectors with her excellent bowling, batting and fielding skills.

She is now one of the more experienced players in the team. Nikkay attends practice sessions in Chatsworth, Durban, every Friday.

The interprovincial tournament will be hosted by Gauteng at Jeppe Boys’ High from December 3 to 8.

Nikkay is also an avid golfer and attends coaching lessons at Margate Country Club.

Next year she plans playing regular golf with the Pro-Vision Golf Club.

The staff and governing body of Marburg Primary are very proud of Nikkay and wish her everything of the best in the upcoming tournament.
