Billy-Anne and Gunner placed first in contact agility

Jane and Mackie were placed first in contact and dog jumping and third in non-contact.

HIBISCUS Kennel Club held a very successful show on June 22 in beautiful sunny weather with 67 entries and Niki Calvert and Simon Brehany judging.

Club members all did very well, but a special mention must be made of Billy-Anne Engelbrecht and her Jack Russell ‘Gunner’, who placed first with qualification in the contact agility event. It was certainly a weekend to remember for Billy-Anne as she was also crowned ‘Little Miss Ugu’.

Hibiscus Coast Kennel Club members Elsie McKillen (left) and her dog Jess achieved first place in contact and second in non-contact, and Jane Cruickshank and Mackie were placed first in both contact and dog jumping, and third in non-contact.

Well done to Elsie McKillen and Jess for achieving first place in contact and second in non-contact; Linda Lyte and Vixen with their contact qualification; and Sharon Derman and Minki for being awarded first place in non-contact.

Scooby and Gaby Frey had a very successful day with two firsts in contact and non-contact, a second in dog jumping and both are busy preparing for the next agility world championship in Luxembourg. Congratulations to Gaby on her new addition, another little poodle named Kylie.

Ninette Smith and Sparkle came third in dog jumping and second in contact, and Jenny Robertson and Jodie only managed to complete one round to take fourth place.

Attendance at the club is steady and hopefully those who have dropped by the wayside will soon be back. The starting time is 2pm and the cost is R200 per year with a R50 registration fee. For more information contact Sharon at 073 6014622.
