THE KwaZulu-Natal Working and Herding open show was held at the Ashley sports club on September 22. Only four South Coast handlers, namely Elsie Pretorius, Gail Taylor, Jean Whittaker and Barbara Egan from ‘Dogs in Action’, attended the show. Perhaps it was because of the imminent long weekend that the show was rather poorly attended.
However, the handlers and their dogs all managed to obtain their fair share of prizes. Quinn, the deaf dog, owned, loved and trained by Barbara Egan, once again managed to leave all in awe at the remarkable progress they are making, getting no less than two first places in their class.
September 27 to 29 will see plenty of action right here at the Hibiscus Kennel Club in Port Shepstone. Best of luck to all South Coast handlers. No doubt the club will host an outstanding event, so go along for an enjoyable day and watch all the action.
