All too easy for golfers Gavin and Janet

There were some great scores despite the breezy weather.

GAVIN Sole and Janet Humphrey both defended their strokeplay titles with some ease at Southbroom Golf Club last weekend. Gavin has now won the title four times, while Janet has won it twice.

Big

Sole was pushed a bit on the Saturday by Jason Ackerman, who was under par until a double bogey on the 17th. On Sunday, the Big Fish showed his class and eased around in 69 to add to his first day score of 71, despite a testing north-easterly wind.

The greens were very quick which made putting a challenge all on its own.

A number of regular players were away, but there was still the usual festive vibe that only club champs can produce.
