Dance sport duo head for Germany

The newly crowned Protea stars will be in action at the IDO Disco Dance World Championship.

Two young South Coasters are ready to represent South Africa on the global stage.

World champion freestyle dancers Sizolwethu Ngidi (11) and Cassandra Lotz (13) will compete at the IDO Disco Dance World Championship in Germany in a few weeks’ time.

Sizolwethu, nicknamed ‘Flying Boy’, won the U12 World Freestyle Championships in Blackpool, England, in July this year.

They have put in countless hours of dedication, passion and commitment, and this will be tested when they get to the world champs Mülheim, Germany, from October 23 to 27.

Sizolwethu is trained by Senicia du Toit Breytenbach from Dance Domination; Cassandra is trained by Kyle Behrens from Dance Corp.

The two dancers received their national colours in Pretoria recently.

Senicia is also the team manager and coach.

She said the two have honed their craft, pushed their limits and embodied the spirit of dance sport.

Both young stars are looking forward to the event and hoping to bring back great results for coast and country.

“As they embark on this journey, let us fill their hearts with our support and encouragement. May their every step be filled with grace, their every move a testament to their talent, and their every victory a celebration of South African dance,” said Senicia.
