Swimmers thrill at gala

Margate Swimming Club held a record-breaking Margate sprints event recently.

Margate Swimming Club hosted its fourth annual Margate sprints at Southcity Christian College last weekend, an event that has grown into one of the premier competitive galas on the South Coast.

This year marked the club’s largest event to date, with over 130 swimmers competing, including clubs that travelled from Gauteng to participate in this prestigious competition.

Swimmers delivered impressive performances, clocking excellent times in their races. The fun 25m events for the junior and senior swimmers brought smiles to many faces, providing both a competitive thrill and lighthearted enjoyment for participants. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as swimmers and spectators alike embraced the spirit of the event.

Gerhard Labuschange thanked all who attended and supported the club. “Your participation helped make this the largest competitive gala ever held on the South Coast. Special thanks are extended to Southcity for their phenomenal facilities, which contributed greatly to the smooth running of this memorable event. “

The club looks forward to building on this success and continuing to provide top-tier swimming events for athletes across the region and country.
