Smith and Peace will now represent KZN in the upcoming national boxing tournament in Tzaneen on September 28.

Luke Smith (14) and Cameron Peace (14) have been selected to represent the Ugu District in boxing in Tzaneen at the end of the month.

Pieter du Toit, the Ugu District Boxing team manager, said Smith and Peace were two of the six boxers from Box360 Boxing Academy in Margate who were selected to compete at the SANABO Provincial Championship in Dundee last Saturday.

This was the first ever Ugu District team to compete at a provincial tournament.

Smith subsequently won his division and obtained gold.

Peace received a silver medal.

Smith and Peace will now represent KZN in the upcoming national boxing tournament in Tzaneen on September 28, where they will compete for their South African colours.

Coach Jordan Peace, the team coach, has also been selected as a coach to represent KZN in the national tournament.

“We are incredibly proud of these young, talented boxers, as they have worked hard to obtain their provincial colours. The KZN team and coach are excited to have them as part of their team, and we all believe they have a great future in boxing,” said Du Toit.
