Debbie has a great passion for nature and biodiversity, having started collecting ‘things’ at a young age. She can often be found with a bag in one hand, bent over, looking for crystals, shells, driftwood, plants or insects.

She is a member of Custodians of Wildflowers, a member of the Conchology Society of South Africa (shell collectors) and is an Honorary Officer with Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife for the past 12 years.

When not out in nature, she can be found managing a macadamia nut farm or in the pool, as she is a qualified South African water fitness instructor.
