More awards for multi-faceted entrepreneur

The Oslo Beach resident is humbled to be acknowledged for her community work.

Madeleine Pretorius of Oslo Beach has just returned from Gauteng after receiving two more awards during Women’s Month.

The multi-faceted entrepreneur and go-getter received her Women of SA award for entrepreneurship and for training and education at Emperor’s Palace in Gauteng last Friday.

Her second accolade was the Commonwealth Business Excellence Award for outstanding women leadership, also held at Emperor’s Palace in Gauteng last Saturday and attended by leaders and state heads, as well as kings and queens from around Africa.

She also received the excellence award in the category of learning and development. This individual award category acknowledged her for making an impact in communities in South Africa through empowering people with skills, education and training.

It celebrates an inspiring individual who has taken on a career challenge, exhibits leadership qualities, has played a pivotal leadership role, has an appetite for driving change regardless of age, and has a high potential for future success in the respective industry.

Pretorius was nominated as one of 100 Women Global Leaders for steering people to reach their full potential and ignite their purpose.

This award ceremony takes place once every five years in SA and will be held in London next year.

She said it’s humbling to receive this remarkable award.

“I am humbled and grateful that my work as a business entrepreneur helped to influence a global crowd, as well as having impacted South African communities,” said Pretorius.

Last month, she was announced as the Influential Women’s brand ambassador at this year’s glamourous Influential Women and Artes Awards 2024 ceremony at the Sibaya Theatre in Umhlanga.
