Warriors display sparkling rugby

The depth at this level for a sub-union club is quite impressive.

South Coast Warriors sent five Colts teams to play in league club matches in Durban last Sunday.

Overall, they had a pretty decent day, winning three and losing two.

Kai Venter shows tremendous strength in the tackle, with Zander Swart running in to assist.

As always, there was some exciting rugby played but it was the wonderful camaraderie and excellent spirit so evident that was pleasing to see.

This was especially the case in the U18s, where the team was represented by a number of former local schoolboys, now at various boarding schools in and around Durban.

This was in addition to the regular loan players required to make up a full team in this age group.

The team played some superb rugby to beat Rovers 41-17, with the sparkling rugby carried through in the U16s, where the Warriors beat Rovers 21-7.

The U15s played against Crusaders and lost 14-0 but put up a fight against a tough opponent.

The two U13 teams experienced mixed fortunes, with the Blues winning 7-5 in a thrilling match against the Mighty Elephants, while the Whites went down 42-12 to Toti.
