Karatekas win medals at champs

Nine karatekas from Port Shepstone Shotokan Karate Club took part in this prestigious event, winning 14 medals.

Shotokan Karate International South Africa hosted a development championship and team challenge in Durban recently.

Over 300 participants from around KZN took part in kata and kumite at the Phoenix Youth Centre.

Nine karateka from Port Shepstone Shotokan Karate Club took part in this prestigious event, winning 14 medals between them.

Shihan Frank Moodley said he is proud of the boys and girls who represented the South Coast.

Tyler Gous earned gold for kumite and silver for kata; Layla Gous gold for kumite and silver for kata; Neriah Peeriyalal gold for kumite and bronze for kata; Sarah Sahli gold for kumite; Mikhail Peeriyalal silver for kumite and bronze for kata; Miguel Gous silver for kumite; Emir Sahli bronze for kumite; Shristi Bisram bronze for kumite and Ilhaam Amod silver for kumite and bronze for kata.
