Margate residents are invited to watch a street soccer tournament at Seaslopes on Saturday, August 31.
The tournament is aimed at promoting community engagement, teamwork, and a love for soccer by providing a platform for local talent to shine.
The street soccer started earlier this year and was organised by a passionate Samkelo Cele who saw talent in the youth and an apt way to bring the community together.
Samkelo said the soccer tournament is a platform for young players to shine and to also promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
However, the organisers are seeking sponsorships to make it a memorable event.
“Sponsorship helps us provide essential soccer equipment and a well-organised event where young athletes can showcase their skills and stay engaged in positive activities. We are creating an opportunity for everyone to come together, to share in the excitement and strengthen local bonds,” said Samkelo.
Donations of soccer balls, kits, small goalposts, refreshments and general costs for the event are sought.
