Police’s dog’s school visit a tail-wagging success

Learners loved interacting with the K9 dog, Faerie.

School children loved the recent visit by dog handler Sergeant Mark Banjo and his four-legged K9 partner, Faerie.

The Suid-Natal Primere grade R learners thoroughly enjoyed the visit from Banjo and Faerie, who are from Port Shepstone Search and Rescue Unit.

Learners interacted with the dog and got to see first-hand how the dog followed spoor. Faerie’s skills were put to the test, the clever dog tracked and found a learner hiding.

Educational pamphlets were handed out.

Paramedics from Mi7 also gave an informative talk and display of the ambulance and equipment.
