Prayer gathering draws large crowd

The crowds also engaged in powerful intercession topics including the upholding of morals, integrity, good governance, as well as reconciliation and unity.

Thousands of people gathered in praise, prayer and supplication at the Moses Mabhida Stadium recently.

Held in Durban, the ‘Ignite the Fire’ gospel campaign was hailed a resounding success as almost 30 000 believers converged to seek God for revival of the church and repentance for the nation.

Powerful decrees are made by Apostle Ronnie Naidoo as Pastor Reynold Naidoo blows the shofar.

It also aimed to seek city transformation by igniting people’s hearts to do God’s will; strategic prayer points focused on pertinent issues from family, marriage and gender-based violence to human trafficking, drugs and alcohol addiction, education, health, youth and children.

The crowds also engaged in powerful intercession topics, including the upholding of morals, integrity, good governance, as well as reconciliation and unity.

As the massive flag of South Africa was lifted amid the sound of the shofar and with crowds holding hands across the stadium, there was a humble cry for God to heal the land.

Ntokozo Mbamba led a powerful worship session.

A special manifesto of the kingdom of God was also read out, which outlined that the church would seek God’s righteousness in this nation and love the Lord and their neighbours by positively impacting communities.

“We will pray for our government and all in authority that we may lead quiet and peaceful lives and that the righteousness may exalt our nation. We will repair the walls, restore the streets and renew the ruined cities. We call upon all citizens to take a stand against everything evil, illegal and destructive. Whatever our station in life, we will uphold financial integrity and conduct our business affairs with honesty for the benefit of all. We will be peacemakers and pursue the ministry of reconciliation,” said Pastor Winston Owen.

Evangelist Thurston Meyer shared an inspiring and profound message.

The prayer was intertwined with dynamic dance by local youth and praise and worship led by the ‘Ignite the Fire’ team, renowned gospel artists Dr Tumi and Ntokozo Mbambo.

Evangelists Thurston Meyer and Tamryn Klintworth said everyone was called by God to be a witness and a positive influence.

The ‘Ignite the Fire’ team led the crowd into vibrant praise and worship.

Meanwhile, Apostle Ronnie Naidoo said: “We have heard powerful testimonies about how lives have been changed after this event. The gathering, which was a first of its kind, united people of all races, cultures and denominations with one purpose – to seek God for the betterment of our nation and to empower believers to transform their communities and cities. We declared a clear sound of revival over the province. Revival means ‘God came’ – only God can heal our land and forgive us when we come together in humility, prayer and repentance,” said Naidoo.

Thousands of people gathered in praise, prayer and supplication for South Africa.
