Help Nelisa realise US bible school dream

The single mother said she will focus on the business side of her studies in Colorado.

Shelly Beach resident Nelisa Makongwana is asking South Coasters for donations to further her studies at the Charis Bible College’s main campus in Colorado, USA.

Makongwana is set to start her final year on August 29.

The 41-year-old explained that she accepted God as her lord and saviour in 1994.

“In 2019, I attempted suicide, and as a result, I joined the Charis Bible College in 2021, and my life has transformed since. I recently experienced a spiritual awakening telling me I need to do my final year in Colorado. I want to go to the USA because South Africa has only an all-rounded leadership course, and in Colorado, you can specialise in certain fields,” she said.

The single mother said she will focus on the business side of her studies in Colorado.

She explained that she wants to use her education to advance God’s kingdom within the business world by creating opportunities for financial independence and spiritual growth for individuals within the community and beyond.

“As part of the course, one can come up with innovative ideas, and this is an opportunity to open my mind to see what is needed in my community. I will also see how I can collaborate with community-based organisations,” she said.
