Busy week for Margate golfers

Saturday's Club Meat Competition was won by Thys Bothma on 40 points. Second was Johan Stoltz with 39 points.

It has been quite an eventful week at Margate Golf Club.

At last Tuesday’s 100 Club, Conrad Boonzaier took first place on 40 points, followed by Johann Erasmus on 39. Two Club went to Johann and Conrad too.

At Wednesday’s Club Meat Competition, Frik Van Zyl led with 34 points, followed by Robin Shuttleworth with 33. Nearest the Pin were Sandi Johnston (2), Dawn Howden (2) and Robin Shuttleworth (4 and 11).

Saturday’s Club Meat Competition was won by Thys Bothma on 40 points. Second was Johan Stoltz with 39 points. Two Club was Arthur Ehlert (4), Johan Williams (11) and Flip Fourie (11). Nearest the Pin were Johan Williams (2) and Craig Rademan (16).

For the ladies, Tuesday’s Combined 2 scores had Dawn Howden, Suzette Olivier and Connie McArthur victorious with 81 points. Coming in on 71 points were Debbie Marx, Wondra Bothma and Hilary Hendry.

At the club champs last weekend, Dawn Howden was bronze champion and also named club champ with gross 182. Silver champion was Sandi Johnston with gross 186. The overall nett winner was Cathy Meyer with nett 128. Cathy also took the title of best nett Sunday with nett 64. Nearest the Pin on Sunday were Agnes Spielmann (hole 2) and Renet van Biljon (hole 16).

At the KZNLGA Medal and Putt – 18 holes Medal on Saturday, Cathy had best nett with 64. Second best nett was Renet van Biljon on 69 (oco). Lowest putts was Veni Deley with 28 putts.
Lastly, at last Wednesday’s Wobblers game, played 2 T/C with all T/C on PAR 5’s was Arther Tomlinson Floater – 79 points on a C/O 39 to 42 to 44 Dave Boyd, Thys Bothma and Frank Merrill. First were Dave Hepworth, Hans Dellinger and Johan Human with 90 points, second were Wayne Minnaar, John Ford and Andre Henn (89 points) and third were Nico van Vuuren, Dave Morrison and Danie Brummer (87 points). Two Clubs was Wayne Minnaar (16) and Nearest the Pin (11) was Dave Boyd.
