One more show of Barbie Meyer’s ‘Just Joplin’

Barbie Meyer’s new show aptly titled; ‘Just Joplin’ opened with great acclaim with sold-out performances on the South Coast.

Barbie Meyer’s ‘Just Joplin’ show will be staged at the Southbroom Golf Club on Friday, March 22 at 18:00.

The production will be in collaboration with The Gentry and will be directed by Marke Meyer.

The show aptly titled; ‘Just Joplin’ opened with great acclaim with sold-out performances on the South Coast.

Hailed as an exhilarating account of a musical great’s life and music, the icon that was Janis Joplin is played with supreme verve, humour, respect, pathos and passion by Meyer.

She is accompanied by members of The Gentry – James Carlsen, Wayne Coughlan and Brent Geldenhuys.
Many people who didn’t get it the first time around or missed it have asked for another performance, said Meyer, adding that the crew is delighted to do one more show.

Meyer described the show as a crazy mix, saying that it includes a bit of Janis Joplin’s background, the people she mixed with, the characters that inspired her, her untimely death and of course her wild and woolly songs.

She added that the show is indeed a beautiful slice of live musical theatre.
The show will include welcoming drinks and dinner.
