The Ezinqoleni Regional Court recently sentenced three men to prison for theft.
Police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said Khokhani Dlamini (37), Nkanyiso Cele (28) and Sibusiso Khuzwayo (37) were each sentenced to 10 years on three counts of theft and declared unfit to possess a firearm.
He said in May 2022, the trio armed with firearms entered the residence of a woman who had received a large sum of money in Nyandezulu, Paddock.
Netshuinda said the men demanded cash and when she did not have hard cash, they forced her to make cash deposits and transfers into several bank accounts.
“The men fled with several cellphones, clothing and two television sets. A case of armed robbery was opened for investigation at Saps Paddock. They were arrested in August 2022 and the investigating officer ensured that they remained in police custody throughout their trial,” he said
