Aces, trophies and more at Margate CC

There's been a lot on the go for Margate CC members.

The Margate Country Club ladies won the annual Cecily McKenzie played at Port Shepstone CC last weekend.
In first place were Wilna Olkers and Cathy Meyer on 93 points, with Renet van Biljon and Agnes Spielmann on 86 points.

Congratulations to Eddie Gomersall who had a hole-in-one on the 16th hole last week Monday.
The 100-Club last Tuesday was won by Robin Shuttleworth on 39 points, followed by Flip Fourie on 38 points.

Two-clubs were carded by Robin Shuttleworth (2), Frik van Zyl and Johan Williams.
The ladies’ section was won by Wondra Bothma, Hilary Hendry and Agnes Spielmann on 91 points.
Runners-up were Sandi Johnston, Grace Fourie and Maureen Ogilvie on 80 points.

The Par 3 Chicken Run last Friday, sponsored by Be Safe, was won by Renet van Biljon on 37 gross (nett 27).
Runner-up was Lloyd Johnston on 39 gross, nett 28.6.
In third place was Jared Botha on 38 gross, nett 29.2.

The Club Meat competition last Thursday was won by Chris Nel on 41 points, with Carlos Pereira next on 41 points.
Nearest-the-pins were Flip Fourie (4th), Johan Stoltz (11th).
Two-clubs were carded by Joe Espach (2nd) and Johan Stoltz (11th).

The Monthly Medal last Saturday was won by Robert Mavundla on 67 gross, with Elvis Khawula next on 72.
Kim Howden won the B division on nett 69, with Conrad Boonzaier second on nett 71.
Des Potts won the C division on 41 points.

Two-clubs were carded by Kevin Deley (4th), Elvis Kwawula (2nd), Robert Mavundla (8th), Glen Usher (8th) and Kim Howden (8th).
Nearest-the-pins were Graeme Massam (11th) and Derek Egerton (4th).

The regular Wednesday Wobblers’ competition was won by Marcus Donovan, Dave Hepworth and Keith Pearson on 90 points.
Runners-up were Wimpie Jordaan, Bob Weanie and Andre Henn on 86 points.
The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Nico van Vuuren, Hans Dallinger and John Ford on 75 points.
Nearest-the-pin was Wimpie Jordaan (16th).
