Teams battle it out in football league

Player registration with the various clubs is open and will close on January 31.

The Gamalakhe Local Football Association League is well underway as teams are ready for the fourth week of games this season.

Fifteen teams will be battling it out, and the games will be played at Gamalakhe’s TB Molefe Sports Field.
Coach Tino Sbukwana, an organiser of the league said all the teams are ready and are giving it their all.
In games last Saturday, Sunshine FC lost 0-1 to Warriors FC, Gunners 2-0 to Seven Stars and Makoya 3-0 to Target.

During last Sunday’s games, the first match was between Young Sunshine and Strivers and the score was 3-1 against Strivers, while United drew 1-1 against Mthini FC, Scefesimnandi drew 0-0 against Juventus and Citizen 3-2 against Margate FC.

“At this weekend’s fixtures Gunners will take on Campus FC at 10am, Makhoya will play Warriors 12pm and Strivers takes on Seven Stars at 2pm,” Sukwana said.

He said Sunday’s matches will see Mthini vs Target at 9am, Citizen vs Young Sunshine at 11am, Juventus vs United at 1pm and the last match will be Scefesimnandi vs Margate at 3pm.
Sbukwana said young players who still want to join teams in Gamalake are welcome to do so. Registration closes on January 31.
