Marburg’s Tarusha Gounder recently won the title of Overall Miss Margate at the Miss, Mrs and Mr Margate contest held at the Margate beachfront recently.
The beauty pageant was hosted by Margate Mardi Gras, a homegrown festival that pays homage to local culture, community spirit, and more.
The pageant was open to anyone aged three years and older. There were several prizes up for grabs.
In winning in the Miss category, Gounder said she also won a cash prize, a holiday and numerous vouchers.
“This title adds to the many titles I have previously won. I was excited to be crowned Miss Margate, the first pageant in a long time. I am grateful for all the opportunities that come along with the title. It was a fun-filled and enjoyable experience for me,” said Gounder.
