Small businesses receive municipal support

The Siqedidlala Project in Ward 1 under KwaMbotho received a pump machine for water irrigation from the river.

Umuziwabantu Municipality recently donated much-needed resources to small businesses through its Local Economic Development projects.

The beneficiaries included Billa Ciao, a Shisanyama in Ward 5. The municipality bought a refrigerator as per the business owner’s request.

Mthethincedo Craft under Ward 1 in Santombe bagged an industrial sewing machine.

Also, Aqua Snacks under Ward 6 in kwaMachi received an ice block-making machine.

Umuziwabantu mayor Siboniso Zungu said: “We are proud to contribute to the growth of our local businesses.

These projects reflect our commitment to empowering our community members and fostering economic sustainability. The assistance provided is part of the municipal programme dedicated to nurturing and supporting the flourishing entrepreneurial spirit within Umuziwabantu. The support provided underscores the municipality’s dedication to creating a conducive environment for local businesses to thrive, thereby contributing to the overall prosperity of the community.”
