Councillor replaces former Umdoni mayor
Naidoo who is making a return to the Umdoni Council is the new PR councillor for the ANC.
Umdoni Municipality recently swore in Poonsamy Naidoo as a proportional representative councillor, following the resignation of the former Umdoni mayor Sibongile Khathi.
Naidoo, who is making a return to the Umdoni Council, is the new PR councillor for the ANC.
He has previously served in the Umdoni council and community as both the deputy mayor and speaker of council.
Welcoming Naidoo, speaker of Umdoni council, Mbali Cele-Luthuli said as councillors they are confident that Naidoo’s wealth of experience in local government will add value towards growing Umdoni.
“We strive towards making sure we have a strong council that makes decisions for the benefit of the communities we serve. Bringing Naidoo onboard will undoubtedly achieve this purpose,” she said.
