Warrant of arrest for rape suspect

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala said Mbambo is wanted for the alleged rape of a 37-year-old psychiatric patient at a medical facility in Scottburgh on April 8, 2021.

Port Shepstone Saps Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) detectives are asking the public to help in the search of Xolani Milton Mbambo of Mthwalume, who is wanted in connection with a rape case.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala said a warrant of arrest has been issued for Mbambo who allegedly rape a 37-year-old psychiatric patient at a medical facility in Scottburgh on April 8, 2021.
Gwala said reports indicate that Mbambo (41) was working as a porter and taking the victim to have an x-ray done when he allegedly took her to another building’s basement and raped her.
She said a rape case was opened at Scottburgh police station and the docket was transferred to Port Shepstone FCS for further investigation.

“He left the area when he heard the police were looking for him. His current whereabouts are unknown and a warrant of arrest was issued by the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court. Anyone who may have information about his whereabouts is urged to contact 082 4177069 or 039 6887900 or call Crime Stop on 086 00 10111,” said Gwala.
