The founder of 039 Kasified Experience, Musawakhe Khowa said in preparations of the event, they have fixed the stadium's fence and cleaned its drain system.

With the aim of creating township tourism and boosting the township economy, 039 Kasified Experience will host the Ekhaya Cultural Experience at the TB Molefe Stadium in Gamalakhe on Sunday, September 24.

The founder of 039 Kasified Experience, Musawakhe Khowa said in preparations of the event, they have fixed the stadium’s fence and cleaned its drain system.

Khowa said the line-up features 80% of local artists, saying that the event will include jazz, poetry, drama, house, soul and hip hop performances.

He added all their service providers are local.

“The event was inspired by the need for entertainment and encouraging people to understand the importance of heritage, heritage in a sense of knowing where you belong and where you are from, we want people to use this day to also push local businesses, art and music. So far, we have received help in terms of compliance with hosting such a big event from the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Local Economic Development office. However, we are finding it hard to get the needed financial backing to host such a big event but we are still waiting for local businesses to assist,” said Khowa, adding that they have brought on board the local policing forum to ensure the safety of patrons.

Khowa said after the event, they will donate a soccer kit to a local team and also buy swimming kits for the public for swimming lessons at the Gamalakhe swimming pool.

He added that they are hoping to make Ekhaya Cultural Experience an annual event.
The event will feature artists such as Mlindo The Vocalist, Khuzani, Dlala Thukzin, Maline Aura, Olefied Khetha, and more.
