Free local marketing App for SMMEs

The App has a wide range of services from doctors to cleaners and is free to download.

In an attempt to assist Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs), two young women from Oshabeni recently launched a mobile application (App) that is aimed at assisting SMMEs with managing their time and empowering them.
The App called ‘Emilohi’ is the brainchild of Sinegugu (28) and Yamandosi (24) Cele.
The duo said the App is designed to help users manage their day-to-day lives by scheduling and booking appointments from different service providers.

They added that the App has a wide range of services from doctors to cleaners and is free to download.
Sinegugu told Fever that because they are a new business, they are not after profits yet, but trying to raise awareness of the App while helping SMMEs with free marketing.

“The App features a user-friendly interface, making it easy to find different service providers, assess their work, compare their prices, book yourself an appointment date and send you a reminder and notifications to ensure you don’t forget important appointments. Our daily lives are based on technology. We order food, rides, clothes, socialise online and bank online. We are all basically existing in the digital era despite our age. Businesses were forced to invest in their digital presence as business operations changed. Some succeeded and others are struggling. The transition is challenging for certain industries to transfer their operation to the digital space. With research and dedication, we found that there is a way that all industries can thrive in the digital space. This is why we created Emilohi our mobile application,” said Sinegugu.
She added that the intention of Emilohi was to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the South Coast, saying that the App accommodates every area.

“Whether you want to hire iMvunulo for uMemulo or schedule an appointment with a doctor/specialist. Now you can access those service providers on a single App without searching the whole internet. The mobile App for everyone whether you are still in school, self-employed, retired or a business owner, you will find it useful and it will make life more convenient for you,” she said, adding that they encourage entrepreneurs to get their businesses listed under Emilohi.
She said it is a great marketing tool and it will make brand building easier.
Co-founder of Emilohi, Yamandosi said the goal is to inspire black people and create a practical plan on how they can work together to rebuild the KZN economy by being behind local businesses.
She said they are reimagining the business industry by bringing a local doctor’s services on to smartphones and a local chef”s catering services at the public’s fingertips.
“The App is available for free download on Google Play Store and Huawei App Gallery. It will be available on IOS App Store soon. For more information visit
