Umzumbe Municipality recently bagged an unqualified audit
This was confirmed by the office of the Auditor General in a recent formal Council Meeting held at Esibanini Community Hall.
In terms of the Auditor General’s report, the municipality has met all the requirements that are sufficient to maintain the status of an unqualified audit opinion.
The mayor of Umzumbe Municipality, Bongani Nyuswa, thanked the community of Umzumbe for electing ‘capable’ councillors.
He further applauded councillors, political parties, management and all staff for making sure that the municipality achieved the audit outcome which has set the tone high, in hopes of returning to the glory of a clean audit status in the future.
“As a rural municipality, Umzumbe Municipality prides itself on the achievement,” he said.
