Marimba players are runners-up in international contest

Khula Center visited matriculants to wish them well for their final exams

Khula Community Centre started the last quarter of the year with great news as they welcomed a new kombi, and took second position at an international marimba competition.

Ally Minnaar, manager at Khula said the organisation is blessed to receive the 16-seater taxi which will be of great use at the centre.
She said the taxi will be used for school visits and a lot more.

“The most exciting is that our marimba boys have had a good month after entering the International Virtual Marimba Competition in July.

“The results were released this month and our boys and their music teacher who all worked incredibly hard made us proud for pulling this off,” Minnaar added.

She said that Khula also received a special award for being the first organisation to register for the competition.
The boys, along with the Khula ladies also performed at the South Coast Hospice evening of choral music last Thursday, and had so much fun.

“We are grateful that we were able to be part of this incredible event,”Minnaar concluded.
