”Operation Vulazonke” for a safer Port Shepstone

A SAPS Provincial Deployment team, Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Law Enforcement, officers from the Immigration Department and local SAPS Port Shepstone members embarked on “Operation Vulazonke”.

Two people were charged with operating a business without a licence in the Port Shepstone CBD recently during a crime operation, “Operation Vulazonke”, conducted by the SAPS.
Port Shepstone police spokesperson, Captain Petros Mpinge said three other people were charged with being in possession of drugs and one person for dealing in drugs.

“Criminals felt the presence of SAPS Port Shepstone members as they conducted a crime operation in the CBD of Port Shepstone. This is just the beginning of ongoing operations targeting the drug trade, illegal immigrants and criminality. A SAPS Provincial Deployment team, Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Law Enforcement, officers from the Immigration Department and local SAPS Port Shepstone members embarked on “Operation Vulazonke” in an effort to make the town safer,” said Mpinge.

He added that at least four people were charged for contravening the Immigration Act, saying that the suspects are between the ages of 21 and 34 years.
“They will appear in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court shortly on the relevant charges,” said Mpinge.
