Fixing Umuziwabantu’s roads

All the potholes that riddled in P61 in Harding have been closed.

Umuziwabantu Municipality recently embarked on a programme to repair potholes in the municipality.

According to Umuziwabantu municipal spokesperson, Bruce Jalubani, the projects are part of the government’s efforts to repair roads that are becoming dangerous to those who use them.

Jalubani said in the programme, all the potholes that riddled the P61 in Harding have been closed, adding that work is currently underway in Khwezi to close all potholes on this road to the N2.

“The municipality is using some new technology to close the potholes and the materials being used are very advanced. Where the pothole has has been repaired, it remains remarkably beautiful and strong. As soon as the municipality is done with this programme, potholes in the municipality will become a thing of the past,” he said.

He added that road users are encouraged to be careful and patient while the roads are being repaired.

“This is a collaboration between Umuziwabantu Municipality, the Department of Transport, traditional leadership, the community, contractors, and local businessmen and it contributes greatly to the successful continuation of the project. If we work together, we will achieve more. We also know that many roads have problems. Therefore, the Umuziwabantu Council continues to communicate with the Department of Transport to increase its maintenance of roads in all our wards,” said Jalubani.
