Sheppie Hawks nab drug dealer

Police received information about a suspect who was dealing in drugs in the area.

The Hawks from Port Shepstone Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit arrested a 42-year-old man for dealing in drugs at Bellair in Durban on Thursday, last week.

According to Hawks spokesperson, Simphiwe Mhlongo said the Port Shepstone Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit was working together with Crime Intelligence and Durban Metro Police.

Mhlongo said police received information about a suspect who was dealing in drugs in the area.

He added that an undercover operation was conducted and they proceeded to the said house, saying that on arrival, the suspect was caught cooking full moon crack cocaine and a search was conducted.

“During the search, police found more pieces of crack cocaine, gauze used to smoke cocaine, cocaine smoking pipes, cooking pots and other paraphernalia with the street value of approximately R10 000. He was arrested and charged with dealing in drugs. He appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Friday,” said Mhlongo.
