National colours for hard-working karateka

A huge congratulations to all the karateka who received awards.

It has been a very busy few months for Ugu karateka .

One of the major highlights was the prestigious KSA Protea awards evening which was held in Durban on the evening of July 16.

Karateka from around the country were honoured at this prestigious awards evening recognised by Sascoc.

There are a number of Ugu karateka who have worked tirelessly this past year and their achievements were acknowledged.

Receiving Protea colours were Sensei Coenie Vrey, Tyler Hogan, Wian de Beer, Zak Vrey, Blake Hogan, Jayden Oosthuizen, GianCarlo Ferrante.

Receiving Protea colours are Tyler Hogan, Zak Vrey, Wian de Beer and Sensei Coenie Vrey, with GianCarlo Ferrante, Jayden Oosthuizen, Hanshi Sonny Pillay (Karate SA president) and Blake Hogan in front.

Receiving Karate South Africa colours were Sensei Grant Selkon and his daughter Taylor Selkon.

The top two ranked athletes in the country receive Protea colours, sanctioned by Sascoc. Those place third and fourth receive KSA colours.
