One dead in N2 collision

Two vehicles were involved in the crash.

One person died in a collision on the N2 near N2 Boboyi recently.

KwaZulu Private Ambulance spokesperson Craig Botha said when emergency services arrived on the scene, they found that two vehicles had been involved in a collision.

Botha said paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that one patient sustained critical injuries and was trapped in a vehicle, adding that two other patients had sustained serious injuries.

“Together with Ray Nkonyeni Fire and Rescue services, paramedics stabilised the patients and extricated the trapped patient using specialised rescue equipment. The patients were transported to a hospital for further treatment. Sadly one occupant sustained fatal injuries and succumbed to injuries before emergency services arrived,” said Botha.

Meanwhile, on Monday Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the R61 near Palm Beach for reports of a collision.

Botha said when emergency services arrived they found that a car and bakkie had been involved in a collision.

“Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that one patient had sustained serious injuries. The patient was treated on scene before being transported to a hospital for further treatment,” said Botha.
