Gamalakhe residents get active at fitness session

Aerobic sessions were conducted throughout the province.

Residents of Gamalakhe were treated to a fun-filled aerobics session at eBar Endala on Sunday.

According to fitness instructor Mike Nzimande, better known as ‘Big Mike’, the exercise session was brought to Gamalakhe by the Icebolethu Group.

He said the group partnered with local fitness instructors to conduct these aerobic sessions across KwaZulu-Natal.

“The event was made possible by the Icebolethu Group, the aim was to encourage people to live a healthy lifestyle. Since the group has branches around the province, we visited the regions where the branches are located for these fitness sessions. Since we were in Gamalakhe over the weekend, we had just come back from areas such as Pietermaritzburg, and Durban and soon we will be in Eskhawini and Ulundi on the North Coast,” said Nzimande.

He added that in Gamalakhe people of all ages came through adding that those who participated did not only get refreshments, but also a T-shirt and a cap.

“The importance of working out is known to most but a healthy body functions well. A healthy body helps the brain function well. And when you look after your body by exercising, some diseases do not easily get into your system,” said Nzimande.
