At least 1 500 capsules of heroin and cash were recently found by Gamalakhe police.
According to Margate police spokesperson, Sergeant Sibu Ncane, Gamalakhe SAPS members in the Proof of Concept (POC) department responded to information on drugs in the KwaXaba area on Tuesday.
Ncane said when the suspect saw the police, he fled.
“He was taken into police custody and appeared in court on Wednesday on a charge of possession of drugs. Cash was found and at least 1500 capsules of heroin. Acting Station Commander Captain Zanovuyo Qwebane applauded Sergeant Dawie Malan and Constables Sifiso Mpofana and Mzomuhle Shange for making the arrest,” said Ncane.
