Two charged with drug possession

The public is encouraged to continue reporting criminal activities in their communities

Two men, aged 25 and 35 recently appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court on charges of drug possession.

According to Margate police spokesperson, Sergeant Sibu Ncane the two were arrested on Sunday, April 24 when Gamalakhe SAPS Crime Prevention received valuable information on drugs at Esikhaleni in Gamalakhe.

Ncane said the police were conducting crime prevention duties when they received the information.

“Police searched the premises and arrested two men who were in possession of heroin capsules and Mandrax tablets. They were charged with possession of drugs and they recently appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court,” said Ncane.

Meanwhile, Gamalakhe Station Commander, Captain Noluvuyo Nomaqhiza thanked Sergeant Dawie Malan and Constable Mzomuhle Shange for acting immediately on the information they received.

“The public is encouraged to continue reporting criminal activities in their communities,” said Ncane.
