OPINION: ‘Turning circle in lamentable state’

Repairs need to be done speedily to prevent a fragile infrastructure from being further damaged.

DEAR Editor;

Can you please assist in creating awareness on the lamentable state of the road that forms part of the main entrance to Albersville.

I have been informed that the damage done recently is by the trucks that are part of the construction of the new Intermodal development.

The entrance to Albersville serves a key entry point for hundreds of learners from outside communities who access the schools in the area, as well the community who use this road to exit into town, Marburg etc for work, shopping and other activities.

As a concerned resident and ratepayer I am deeply concerned that this destruction will only gain momentum with little or no recourse from our municipality or the developers themselves (if they are responsible).

As the voice of our South Coast, we reach out to you to please assist, through your publication, in the hope that repairs are speedily done and also preventative measures are taken not to overburden a fragile, ageing and poorly maintained road infrastructure.
