BRONWYN TANNER: Tuning In – Busy weeks ahead

Community news and events for the mid-South Coast area.

Scottburgh Caravan Park reported that one of the guests, Ian Goodlad, showed photographer Sean Meets all the bottle caps he had picked up on the beach during his visit. Ian is taking them to Kingsburgh to have them recycled and made into a park bench.

He picked up the caps every time he went to the beach and having collected about 1000, some are impressed at the flexibility of his back! Well done to him and his amazing back having to bend down a 1 000 times. Every little bit helps.

Ian Goodlad is applauded for his good deeds while visiting Scottburgh.

Here’s some sweet news about the recent National Cupcake Day – an incredible amount of R2 326 347 was raised in South Africa.
Some 2 000 bakers took part, with 114 291 cupcakes pledged online. In total, 74 malls made space available for sales. The funds will be used by Cupcakes of Hope to assist children with cancer.

Most beneficiaries are referred via social workers and doctors. Since its inception, 10 000 children and families have been assisted with support.
