BRONWYN TANNER: Tuning In – Who cut the tree at Scottburgh beach?

Community news and events for the mid-South Coast area.

Thanks to local community members who have arranged for the lifesaving and nippers’ hut on Scottburgh main beach to be revamped.

The revamped lifesavers and nippers hut.

With regards to the tree being cut at Scottburgh Beach – it is hard to believe, but yes, someone did. Has anyone seen who did this? Most important, this is part of Scottburgh Beach. It had not fallen when the discovery was made last weekend but has since been chopped down (presumably to prevent falling and injuring someone). Mick McConnell said he planted it in the early 1980s, along with the others.

The tree was found in this condition last weekend.

Cat lovers/feeders are looking for two igloo/doggie houses if anyone has them for sale. One for the cat at the golf club and the second for a couple of kitties around the second green on the golf course. Please contact 071 4170638.

Scottburgh Sardine Run Market is scheduled to take place on Scottburgh’s main beachfront on June 28 from 09:00 to 16:00.

District 49 Child & Youth Care Centre is in urgent need of food and financial donations – vegetables can be dropped off at the market, and a table will be allocated next to the DJ.

The event promises to be a vibrant and entertaining experience, with a wide range of activities and attractions. Visitors can indulge in a variety of food and drink options, browse through stalls selling toys, clothing, arts and crafts and enjoy the excitement of a jumping castle for children. The atmosphere will be further enhanced by a DJ spinning lively tunes.

Scottburgh Beach is renowned for its excellent fishing and surfing conditions, and the recent netting of sardines has added to the excitement. The weather is looking promising, and we all look forward to seeing you there. For more information, contact 078 3441800.
