OPINION: Never feel that you are alone

"Be thankful for what you do have. Even a little can go a long way."

I would like to start my letter by saying ‘you are not alone’.
As we stumble across daily challenges in our lives, we tend to become overwhelmed and then distant from our purpose in this world.

Now, like every other human being, we all need to be kind and humble towards each other.
I recently observed a humble soul asking for help – and the person from whom he had asked the help totally ignored him.

It was not my place to say anything so I continued the conversation I was having with a friend.
I saw this person still asking for some help, so I walked up to him and asked if I could assist.

Some may share the view that you shouldn’t help because ‘he’s a para’ or is ‘on whoonga’.
But not everyone is that type of person. And it costs nothing to be kind and humble to other souls.

It’s time to encourage kind acts among others in our communities, where folk help each other to make a difference.

Support local business, give someone a loaf of bread, share a meal with a family you know is in need.
At times, we humans fall short in being kind and humble.
It is extremely hard out there at the moment.

The prices of groceries, fuel and other essentials make it difficult to make ends meet.
Be thankful for what you do have. Even a little can go a long way.

I know of people sitting at home (with a good education) who can’t find employment.
If you are a business owner and need an extra someone, view that CV and set up an interview.

We are all having challenging times, so be kind and humble to one another.
Remember that no matter what you face, never feel alone. You are not alone in all that you go through.

I pray God fills those pockets of those who are always willing to make a difference in our community.
