BRONWYN TANNER: Tuning In – Beach patroller earns three matric distinctions

Community news and events for the mid-South Coast area.

Tidy Towns Pennington is so proud of its ‘beach patroller’ Sbahle Ngubo who helped to keep our beaches clean and tidy for the festive season. Sbahle earned three distinctions in matric. Well done and congratulations. I know the community will join me in wishing you a bright, shiny future.

For the people who know nothing about TC Robertson Nature Reserve, it is a non profit public benefit organisation located on the outskirts of Scottburgh and has an interesting history. Community members converted that land into a nature reserve in 1989.

It is named after South African ecologist and conservationist, Dr TC Robertson. From March 1, the entrance fee is R50 per vehicle for not more than five people and R20 per person extra. Walk-ins are R20 per person. Don’t forget to pack walking shoes and sunscreen.

Donations are welcome. For more information email: gfaulpav1@gmail.com or call 082 6227699.

The Scottburgh Easter Market is on Saturday, March 30. There will be live music with plenty of stalls, a motorbike display and a kiddies zone. Contact 072 5078773.
