The Grade 12s are wished all the best for their finals. I know it’s a most stressful time for learners, teachers and parents. It’s nearly over, the end of 12 years. Good luck everyone!

* Umdoni Park Golf Club is hosting NG Church Scottburgh’s golf day on Sunday, November 19. Book with Veni at the proshop on 039 9751615. Enquiries to Noelene Kros on 083 5464358.

* Umdoni Retirement Village is hosting a Christmas market on Saturday, November 25 from 08:30 to 12:30. Vendors are required. Tables cost R140. Contact Lesley Perchman on 083 2871296.

* Khanya Hospice is holding a live show with Khilona Sounds plus Nagara Entertainers. There will also be a Glamourous Gran competition. Gifts are sponsored by Mervin Mundie. Event is at the Orissa Inn, Umkomaas on Saturday November 25 at 18:30. Cost is R60 per person.

* The Scottburgh Mardi Gras takes place in Scott Street on Saturday, December 17 from 09:00 to 21:00. This is a Lions Club fundraiser. Contact Lorna Thomson on
072 5078773 to find out more. There will be a float parade, quality stalls, food, beer garden, display court, live entertainment, kiddie zone, beautiful competition and a Christmas eggnog fun run.

* Registration for next year’s election will be held for Ward 10 soon in the events room in the Pennington municipal building, Dolphin Drive Watch this space for further information.

* Scottburgh Rugby Club is recruiting players 18 years and older for the 2024 season. Contact Travis Clarke on 084 0623433.

Northlands Boys High School class of 1979/1980 enjoying their Christmas luncheon at the Umdoni Golf Club last week. The group meets on the first Thursday each month. Four teachers from the area (Pennington) also attended the luncheon. They are (from left) George Hook, Binkie Kapp, Johnny McGlashan and Keith Hosken.
