OPINION: Our roads are in a shocking state

How many accidents will take place before the authorities catch a wake up and repair the road?

My wife was travelling back from Port Shepstone to Shelly Beach in bad weather on the main road (that we locals call Marine Drive) when her car hit two horrible potholes just before the traffic lights where one turns up to Creston College. Two wheels were badly damaged.

Fortunately, we were able to assist and get her home safely – and have both wheels repaired.
But how many more people are going to hit these bad potholes on this busy road?

Our roads are in a shocking state and nobody is doing anything about it.
